What are the Prettiest Lakes in New York?

The state of New York houses over 7,000 freshwater ponds and lakes, but we’re going to take a look at a few different sources to see what people consider the prettiest lakes in New York. Living that lake life pairs nicely with the RV lifestyle and there’s always great activities around the lake.

Belmont Lake State Park

Belmont State Park was established back in 1926, and its home to a massive wetland area in addition to the lake at the park. This park features tons of excellent picnic areas and visitors will typically see the trails bustling with horseback riders and bicyclists.

The fishing at Belmont Lake is strong, too – people rave about the trout in the spring and the bass in the summer. Additionally, the lake services team have rental stations where visitors can rent kayaks or rowboats during the summer months. If you’re considering a pretty spot, take a look at Belmont State Park.

Canandaigua Lake

Canandaigua is one the most popular fishing destinations in the area, with five marinas in the area, you always see fishing boats hitting the water out here. One of the natural highlights at this park is the limestone formations called oncolites that can be found on Squaw Island. People admire the rare beauty and always snap a few pretty photos while they’re there.

Oneida Lake

Oneida Lake is the largest lake located entirely within New York State, and many people consider it a very pretty lake. The lake is about 5 miles wide and over 20 miles long. It isn’t a severely deep lake by any means, but the water gets warm easily and it’s a popular destination during the summer months.

The fishing community loves it here because of the walleye and bass found here throughout the year. People also love Sylvan Beach here and comment on how pretty it is when the amusement areas and restaurants are all bustling.
